Kasturba police have arrested five people for beating city man to death on suspicion of theft. The 29-year-old, who was allegedly inebriated, entered a housing society at Borivli (E) in the early hours of Thursday and was mistaken to be a thief and beaten up by five to six people besides the security guard. A few hours later, post medical examination, the man, identified as Pravin Lahane, died while seated at Kasturba Marg police station.
