HYDERABAD: Minutes after Eamcet results were announced on Thursday, an 18-year-old Inter student set himself on fire near Osmania University campus after he failed to qualify in the exam.
OU police said K Sri Krishna Chaitanya of New Nallakunta came to the campus at 1 pm. Chaitanya was found by passers-by shouting in pain after torching himself.
“Chaitanya did not qualify in Eamcet. He came to OU and set himself ablaze,” OU police said. He succumbed while undergoing treatment. Police registered a case under section 174 of CrPC.
